AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - St. Edward’s University is set to announce a $100 million fundraising campaign, with more than $71 million already raised.

University President George Martin tells the Austin American-Statesman (https://bit.ly/1hamtRV ) he has “very high” confidence that the goal will be reached by summer 2017. St. The small Catholic university in Austin will announce the campaign Thursday.

Bill and Pat Munday of Austin are the most generous donors by far, having contributed $34 million of the $71.5 million donated or pledged. The Mundays’ gifts included more than $20 million for scholarships and $13 million for a library and learning center. Pat Munday is a member of the university’s board of trustees. Her husband operates several car dealerships.



The library, which bears the Munday name, has already been built.
