KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) - The Monroe County Medical Examiner has identified skeletal remains found in a wooded area on Key West.
Dental records were used to confirm the remains found Sunday as 53-year-old William Brian Norton of Naples.
Medical examiner Dr. E. Hunt Scheuerman told the Key West Citizen (https://bit.ly/1bP0FgW ) there was no evidence of foul play or trauma. But the cause of death has yet to be determined and may never be due to state of the remains. Only the bones remain and there are no organs or tissue available to test for toxins
Family members say Norton had several medical issues. His sister says Norton was homeless when they last talked in May.
A tourist found the remains in a wooded area across from Gerald Adams Elementary School while bird watching.
