Salt Lake City attorney arrested on drug charges

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - An attorney who works in the Salt Lake City attorney’s office has been arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/1nQGsHx ) that the 50-year-old James Wesley Robinson and his two sons were arrested Wednesday at his Salt Lake City home.

Charging documents show police found large amounts of marijuana and pipes, bongs, scales and cash in the home. He is facing charges that include cocaine possession, marijuana possession with intent to distribute and weapons offenses.

Salt Lake City mayor spokesman Art Raymond says Robinson works for the city attorney’s office and represents police in civil cases. He says Robinson has been placed on paid leave.

Robinson’s two sons, 21 and 18, were also arrested.

It’s unclear if Robinson has an attorney. Efforts to reach him at home were unsuccessful.
