HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) - Officials say a 42-year-old western Michigan woman with a history of domestic violence fatally stabbed her 38-year-old male roommate.
Police in Holland say Jodie C. McLean was arraigned Thursday on an open charge of murder. Judge Susan Jonas has ordered McLean to remain in the Ottawa County jail until a probable cause hearing.
Police say McLean attacked Steven M. Gordon about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday during a domestic dispute. MLive.com says she and Gordon shared a room in a house and says McLean stabbed him in the chest with a kitchen knife.
The Holland Sentinel reports police say she has a record for repeated domestic violence, drunken driving and assault.
Defense lawyer John Moritz tells The Associated Press he’s meeting with McLean on Friday and won’t comment until then.
