UNITY, N.H. (AP) - A stop-work order has been lifted on a new elementary school for Unity, N.H., and residents are learning that it will cost $3 million to complete the long-delayed building.
Ron Bauer of Trumbull-Nelson Construction Co. says the school would be ready on time if Unity residents pass a bond at the March school district meeting.
The Unity School Board is hosting a public hearing on Feb. 25, to discuss the $2.75 million bond that residents will vote on at the March 22 school district meeting. Some money is left over from the last bond voters approved for the school.
In 2010, the Unity Elementary School became the first school in state history to be ordered closed for fire code violations.
