BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) - A suburban Chicago businessman’s murder trial has been delayed after a defense attorney slipped on ice outside the courthouse and was injured.

Orland Park businessman Allan Kustok is accused of killing his wife in September 2010. Opening statements in Kustok’s trial were to start Thursday but were delayed until Friday. Defense attorney Rick Beuke slipped on his way into the Cook County courthouse in Bridgeview.

The Southtown Star reports (https://bit.ly/1hyKbfc) Beuke was bleeding from a cut on his elbow and was taken to a hospital.

The 63-year-old Kustok is accused in the shooting death of Anita “Jeanie” Kustok. Prosecutors say he shot her once in the head while she slept. Kustok says he awoke to a gunshot and found his wife dead with a gun in her hand.
