ST. LOUIS (AP) - Missouri’s state auditor is pleased with progress being made by St. Louis schools, but says there’s still room for improvement.
The state released audit results in September that gave the St. Louis district a “fair” rating, citing problems that including promoting hundreds of students to the next grade level despite poor reading skills.
KMOV-TV (https://bit.ly/Mf6wzL ) reports that in a follow-up audit on Thursday, Auditor Tom Schweich noted significant progress since the September audit. A Schweich aide, Spence Jackson, says more work remains in areas like student promotion and retention.
