WOONSOCKET, R.I. (AP) - Woonsocket officials are investigating the cause of a house fire that killed a family’s pet.

Firefighters were called to the single-family home on Larch Street shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday. No residents of the two-story house were injured.

The two-alarm fire prompted Woonsocket officials to ask for mutual aid from firefighters in North Smithfield and Cumberland.
