FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The attorney for Cass County Administrator Keith Berndt says he is innocent of domestic assault.
Keith Berndt is charged in Moorhead, Minn., with two counts of misdemeanor domestic assault. Police say the person Berndt allegedly assaulted is a minor.
Defense attorney Lisa Borgen tells KFGO radio (https://bit.ly/MekD8p ) that no assault occurred. She says Berndt plans to plead not guilty.
The 53-year-old Berndt served as Cass County engineer for 19 years before he was promoted to administrator of North Dakota’s most populous county three years ago.
