NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man faces numerous charges after he allegedly stabbed two other Pennsylvania men during an Ultimate Fighting Championship event held in northern New Jersey.
Newark police say 36-year-old Angel Pereira of Lancaster faces aggravated assault and weapons charges stemming from Saturday night’s confrontation at the Prudential Center.
The two victims were treated at a hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, but further details were not disclosed. Their names also were not released, and it was not known if they knew Pereira.
A motive for the stabbings was not disclosed. Authorities say arena security officers recovered the knife used in the attack.
