CLEVELAND (AP) - When the Winter Olympics open this week in Russia, the U.S. alpine ski team can thank an Ohio chef for handling the training table duties in the lead-up to Sochi.
Robin Blair of Cleveland Heights is a chef and cooking instructor. She prepared training meals for 30 athletes and coaches on the U.S. alpine ski team.
She got to cook for the team at its training base in Austria and at pre-Olympic meets.
The 36-year-old Blair is a nutritionist who trained at Ohio State University and studied cooking at Cleveland’s Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) Community College.
She tells The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer (bit.ly/1eTd0xm) she won’t go to the Olympics because her credentials did not arrive in time. Another chef will do the cooking in Russia.
