ALLEGANY, N.Y. (AP) - A 37-year-old man faces drunken driving charges after state police found him sleeping in a closet at a western New York highway rest area with his car parked on the highway median.
Troopers in Cattaraugus County said Sunday that they followed footprints in the snow from a vehicle on the median of Interstate 86 to the Allegany rest area. There, they found Trevor Jimerson of nearby Steamburg sleeping in a closet.
Jimerson was arraigned in Olean City Court on charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was sent to Cattaraugus County Jail on $1,000 bail to await an appearance in Town of Allegany court on Monday.
