BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Jefferson County Sheriff’s officials say a fiery, early morning crash has left one person dead.

Sheriff’s spokesman Randy Christian told AL.com (https://bit.ly/1eqQSfL ) a driver veered off the road around 3 a.m. Sunday and the car they were in became engulfed in flames soon after the impact.

Christian says a passerby reported the crash and the driver as the vehicle’s lone occupant. Christian says the driver was riding in an unidentifiable four-door sedan and the person’s identity hasn’t yet been released.
