SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - Pinal County authorities have arrested three people who tried to hide in a field after shoplifting from a Wal-Mart.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Miguel Nino, 19-year-old Lynasie Connally and a 16-year-old boy were taken into custody Friday evening in San Tan Valley.

All three are accused of stealing $334 in merchandise.

Deputies say Nino sped away in a car with Connally while the 16-year-old, who was handcuffed, fled on foot.

Sheriff’s deputies say the chase lasted about 45 minutes before Nino drove into a field.

Authorities, with the help of a resident, detained the 16-year-old and then found Nino and Connally.

They seized several rounds of ammunition and a methamphetamine pipe.

Nino and Connally face several charges, including aggravated assault and shoplifting.
