PARAMUS, N.J. (AP) - Police in northern New Jersey have released video of a brazen jewelry store burglary on Valentine’s Day.
The film shows the robbers smashing a Ford pickup truck through the doors of The Jewelry Center in Paramus, then hooking a cable from the truck to a safe and dragging it out of the store.
They also used a stolen backhoe to lift the safe onto the truck.
The Record (https://bit.ly/1nNghRR) says the owner of the store told police the crew got away with $250,000.
Authorities are investigating whether the robbery is connected to two burglaries in Union County with similar characteristics: one in Springfield last February and one in Union this New Year’s Day.
