GOSHEN, Utah (AP) - Authorities in Utah say a 19-year-old man faces a driving under the influence charge after he was accused of striking his mother with his pickup truck.
Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon tells the Deseret News (https://bit.ly/1cZApvc) that Douglas Brandon Herring was arrested late Monday at his home in Goshen.
His mother was flown by medical helicopter to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo with injuries including broken bones.
Cannon says deputies obtained a warrant for a urine sample from Herring that tested positive for methamphetamine.
In addition to DUI causing serious bodily injury, Herring is accused of driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.
