TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) - A Torrington woman has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend in the city’s first homicide since 2008.
Twenty-four-year-old Tosha Strahan is scheduled to be arraigned in Bantam Superior Court on Wednesday, which would have been victim David Vazquez’s 26th birthday. Strahan was held on $350,000 bail after being arrested Tuesday, a day after Vazquez’s funeral.
Police allege Strahan stabbed Vazquez to death with a kitchen knife at their apartment in the early morning hours of Feb. 9. Authorities say the stabbing was a family violence incident, but they haven’t released details of what exactly led to the killing.
Witnesses told police the couple argued after returning home from a bar.
Strahan’s lawyer didn’t return messages seeking comment.
