PHOENIX (AP) - SWAT teams have surrounded a house in south Phoenix in a barricade situation involving an armed man.

Phoenix police say officers were called to the house near Fifth Street and Roeser on Wednesday afternoon after a man fired a weapon in his backyard during a domestic-violence incident.

Police say the man then barricaded himself in the house and is the only person inside.

A police SWAT team is negotiating with him and authorities have blocked off the neighborhood.

The man’s name hasn’t been released.
