OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Senate has approved a bill intended to protect the visitation rights of parents who do not have custody of their children.
The bill by Republican Sen. Ron Sharp would require custodial parents to provide the noncustodial parents with the court-ordered visitation schedule. The non-custodial parent must be current on child support to receive the information.
Custodial parents who fail to provide the visitation schedule would face a fine.
The bill now goes to the state House for consideration.
