PULASKI, N.Y. (AP) - New York authorities are investigating a head-on crash in northern New York involving a state police-owned sedan.
Troopers say investigator Charlotte Yerdon was driving south on a rural two-lane highway when she was hit by a Chevrolet SUV driven by 38-year-old Jennifer Weeks of Mexico, N.Y. The accident Tuesday morning happened near Pulaski along the eastern shore of Lake Ontario, and troopers say Weeks was northbound and following a snowplow.
A state police reconstruction unit says the crash occurred in the southbound lane.
Yerdon, a seven-year state police veteran, was transported to Pulaski Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Weeks and her passenger, 16-year-old Tiffany Cummins, were not injured.
Pulaski is 38 miles north of Syracuse.
