ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers say the state medical examiner has confirmed that human remains found near Girdwood were from a missing Wasilla woman.

Troopers say a skull found in a wooded area in Indian belonged to 26-year-old Nichole M. Millsaps, who disappeared nearly four years ago.

A hiker on Feb. 9 found the skull off Boretide Road in Indian. Troopers say women’s clothing also was found at the site.

Millsaps was reported missing in May 2010.

A cause of death was not immediately released.
