CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A 44-year-old Cedar Rapids man accused of trying to kill his neighbors has been given seven years in prison.
Waterloo television station KWWL says (https://bit.ly/MzrJFr ) Joseph Pham was sentenced on Tuesday. Pham had pleaded guilty to lesser charges in a deal with prosecutors.
Pham had been charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of intimidation with a dangerous weapon. Prosecutors say he shot Brian Wilson and fired at two others on June 9, 2012. Pham pleaded guilty to felony intimidation and to reckless use of a firearm.
Police say the shooting stemmed for a disagreement between Pham and Wilson. Police say there were several complaint calls made in 2012 by Wilson and Pham regarding loud music, rude gestures, broken windows and feces being thrown.
