BALTIMORE (AP) - Fire officials say one person is dead and three people were injured in a house fire in east Baltimore.

Fire Department spokesman Ian Brennan says the fire was reported about 3 p.m. Wednesday in a rowhouse about a mile from Johns Hopkins Hospital. Smoke from the blaze could be seen over much of the city.

Part of the building collapsed.

Officials say a body was recovered from the rubble of the house. Brennan says two adults and a child suffered injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

The fire is under investigation.
