CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Master’s degree programs in data science and European studies have been proposed at the University of Virginia.
The university’s Board of Visitors is scheduled to consider the programs this week.
Professor Donald E. Brown tells The Daily Progress (https://bit.ly/Mvawgb ) that the data science program would focus on collecting and analyzing massive stores of data. He says data scientists are in high demand.
College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences associate dean Cristina Della Colletta says the European studies program would focus on Europe as a unit and its relationship with the rest of the world. It would combine coursework in language, history, culture and politics.
