CANTON, Miss. (AP) - Undra Ward has been sentenced to serve 45 years for his role in the death of Robert Adams, the manager of the Party City in Ridgeland during a robbery of the store in October of 2012.

District Attorney Michael Guest says in a news release that Ward pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of second-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Archie is scheduled for trial in April on a charge of capital murder.

Guest says Archie, a former Party City employee, shot the 68-year-old Adams. Guest says surveillance video shows the gunman throwing a book bag to Ward, who worked at the store, and telling him to fill them up with cash.

Police say more than $2,000 was taken during the robbery.
