PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) - The publisher of The News Herald in Panama City is retiring after a newspaper career that spanned 48 years.
The News Herald reported Monday (https://bit.ly/1eK7Ykj ) that Roger Quinn will step down at the end of this month. Quinn became the paper’s publisher in August 2012 after it was purchased by Halifax Media Group.
Halifax CEO Michael Redding says a nationwide search for a new publisher will begin immediately.
Quinn began his career in 1966 in Gadsden, Ala., eventually rising to publisher of a New York Times Regional Media Group overseeing papers in North Carolina and South Carolina. Some of those properties were purchased by Halifax.
In addition to publisher at The News Herald, Quinn was regional publisher for properties in Halifax’s central region, which includes northwest Florida, Alabama and Louisiana.
