KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) - The chairman of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission is running for Klamath County district attorney.
The Herald and News (https://bit.ly/1c1fCaf ) reports Rob Patridge announced his candidacy on Tuesday.
After losing a run for Jackson County district attorney, Patridge was appointed by Gov. John Kitzhaber last year to complete the term of retired district attorney Ed Caleb in Klamath County. The governor named Patridge, a Republican, head of the state liquor board in September.
Patridge says he has worked hard to improve the criminal justice system as Klamath County struggles with budget cuts. He adds his office is trying and resolving more cases, and reducing the backlog of criminal cases.
Previously, Patridge has been a Jackson County prosecutor, a state representative and an aide to U.S. Rep. Greg Walden.
