NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) - Newport’s International Tennis Hall of Fame says it will announce a new chief executive officer.

The tennis attraction has scheduled a news conference for 11 a.m. Tuesday to announce the successor to Mark Stenning, who is stepping down in September after 35 years with the organization and 14 years as CEO.

The Hall of Fame did not identify the new CEO, except to say the choice is a former top-ranked professional tennis player and leader in the sport.

Officials plan to upgrade the museum with new technology and exhibitions, add tennis courts and facilities and improve amenities, including the tennis stadium. Plans also call for revitalizing the streetscape on nearby Memorial Boulevard.

The news conference will be at the USTA Wing at the Hall of Fame and Museum in Newport.
