NORWICH, Conn. (AP) - Police in eastern Connecticut say they arrested a man wanted in Puerto Rico in connection with an attempted murder and abuse case.

Norwich police say they worked with Puerto Rican authorities to find 24-year-old Pedro Salcedo, who was on San Juan police’s list of most-wanted suspects.

Salcedo was arrested Monday during a traffic stop in Norwich. He was detained on $1.5 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Norwich Superior Court. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.

Authorities say Salcedo was visiting friends in Norwich.

San Juan police have an arrest warrant accusing Salcedo of attempted murder with a gun, conjugal abuse, aggravated conjugal abuse of a minor and other crimes.
