WARREN, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police fire investigators say the cause of a fire that did an estimated $2 million in damage to a condominium complex at the Sugarbush ski resort in Warren was not suspicious.

On Tuesday, investigators said the exact cause of the fire reported early Monday has been ruled undetermined, but the investigation suggests it was caused by a heating appliance in one of the units.

There were no injuries in the fire, but officials said 36 units sustained “significant damage.”

Firefighters said their efforts to extinguish the fire were hindered by cold temperatures, which froze hose lines and the gear they were wearing. Police reported that lack of water also was a problem.
