SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Savannah police have identified two homeless men who were killed when their truck overturned in a canal.
Police say 64-year-old Arthur Erhardt and 46-year-old Joseph Webb Jr. were in a truck that landed in several feet of water near a homeless encampment beneath an overpass west of Savannah on Friday.
Police say Webb was trying to back down an unstable access path next to the canal as the two were leaving the camp. Authorities say the driver’s side wheels went over the side of the canal and the truck fell in.
