PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - The Colorado State University Board of Governors has agreed to give CSU-Pueblo $5 million to help balance its budget, but the school says it still plans to cut $3.3 million in spending to cover a shortfall.
The Pueblo Chieftain reported Monday (https://tinyurl.com/obq4bfh ) the governors approved the investment in a vote last week.
CSU-Pueblo announced two weeks ago a plan to cut 14 faculty positions. Two of those positions are vacant. The school said no tenured or tenure-track faculty would lose their jobs.
The plan calls for eliminating a total of more than 40 positions.
School officials have said class loads of current faculty members would be adjusted to cover classes of the eliminated positions.
