WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - A West Lafayette house fire has left a woman dead.

The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office says the woman died from her injuries after being transported to a hospital. WLFI-TV and the Lafayette Journal & Courier report the woman’s name was not immediately released.

The sheriff’s office says the fire was reported before 2 a.m. Emergency responders arriving on the scene found flames shooting through the roof.
