HONOLULU (AP) - Authorities say a woman was fatally struck while walking across the Kamehameha Highway in Aiea.

Honolulu police told KITV-TV the woman in her 30s was not in the crosswalk when she was hit around 4:30 a.m. Saturday by the Pearlridge shopping center.

The driver was not injured.

Police told the station the rain, along with low visibility, may have been a factor in the incident.

They do not believe speed and alcohol played a role.
