KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia (AP) - Russian freestyle officials say skicross racer Maria Komissarova sustained a “serious” injury in Olympic training and was taken to a nearby hospital for surgery.

The 23-year-old skier won’t compete next week, the Russian freestyle federation said in a statement Saturday. The statement called the injury “serious” but did not disclose the nature of the injury.
