COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - If you have unwanted electronics on hand, now is a good time to put them to better use.

Keep the Midlands Beautiful is partnering with the Town of Irmo on Saturday to host a scheduled electronics waste recycling event. At Crossroads Middle School, residents of Richland and Lexington counties can bring in items like computers, televisions and VCRs to be recycled.

Other materials that will be accepted include copiers, fax machines, cellphones and radios.

Under state law, electronics waste must be recycled and not placed in the garbage.
