JONESBURG, Mo. (AP) - An eastern Missouri man is being held without bond in connection with the stabbing deaths of two women and the critical injuries of two other people, including an 8-year-old boy, in what police are calling a domestic dispute.

Shawn M. Kavanagh, 23, of Bellflower, was charged Saturday with two counts of first-degree murder, domestic assault, assault, armed criminal action and burglary, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1nCfpQb ) reported.

He was being held in the Warren County jail. It was not immediately clear whether Kavanagh had obtained an attorney.

Kavanagh called 911 just before 8 p.m. Friday and told police he had stabbed his wife and killed several other people at a home south of Jonesburg, the newspaper reported. He was covered in blood when sheriff’s deputies arrived and told deputies that he killed the people inside the home, according to a press release from Warren County Sheriff Kevin Harrison.

Deputies found a 22-year-old Montgomery City woman and a 29-year-old Jonesburg woman dead from multiple stab wounds, according to the release.

Kavanagh’s wife, 27, was found with four life-threatening wounds and was being kept alive on a ventilator Saturday, according to the release. An 8-year-old boy who was found with multiple puncture wounds, lacerations, broken bones and a collapsed lung was on life support. The two were airlifted to area hospitals.

Kavanagh and his wife are separated, Harrison said.
