FORT EDWARD, N.Y. (AP) - An upstate New York man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the death of his girlfriend’s 3-month-old son.
Local media report that 31-year-old Kevin Wayne King had pleaded guilty in January to first-degree manslaughter in a deal with prosecutors to drop a murder charge.
Prosecutors said he slammed Brett King to the floor of the Fort Edward apartment where he lived with his girlfriend on Aug. 11. Police say King was playing a videogame and was angered when the child wouldn’t stop crying and fussing.
