JEMEZ SPRINGS, N.M. (AP) - The town of Jemez Springs is searching for a new police chief.

Albuquerque TV station KOB reported Friday (https://bit.ly/1b4mh8l) that Shane Harger is out of the job after fallout from having two names.

Harger recently was detained by Transportation Security Administration agents at Albuquerque International Sunport for having a different name on his boarding pass.

The name on his New Mexico driver’s license is Braxton Haze.

Harger says he changed his name after a 2007 case involving former Albuquerque police officer Levi Chavez.

Chavez eventually later was acquitted of killing his wife and making it look like a suicide in Los Lunas.

Harger says he used to be a deputy in Valencia County and was the first to arrive at the scene the night Tera Chavez was found dead.
