GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A Phoenix man is in custody in connection with a fatal stabbing in Glendale.

Glendale police say 31-year-old Christopher Martinez is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Police say a woman called 911 around 11 p.m. Thursday to report the stabbing.

A 37-year-old man was found wounded in front of a residence and he later was later declared dead at a hospital.

The victim’s name is being withheld until family members can be notified.

Police say less than an hour after the stabbing, Martinez was stopped by a patrol officer for riding a bicycle at night without any reflectors.

They say Martinez had blood on his clothing and he had a knife and drug pipe in his possession at the time. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer yet.
