LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say a 35-year-old man who didn’t stop when an officer tried to pull him over died in a crash a little ways down the road.
Authorities say an officer tried to stop a 2011 Toyota Scion about 4 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road, but the driver left the area.
The officer didn’t chase the driver, who headed west on Spring Mountain.
Witnesses say the Scion was approaching the intersection with Decatur Boulevard at high speeds when the driver lost control of the vehicle after crossing the intersection and went off the road into a light pole.
The car flipped, hit the outside of a building and landed in a parking lot.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
