DOVER, Del. (AP) - Wildlife officials say downstate trout season will get underway with the opening of two ponds.

The Division of Fish and Wildlife says Tidbury Pond near Dover and Newton Pond outside of Greenwood will open for trout fishing at 7:30 p.m. March 1.

The two ponds will be stocked with about 300 pounds of rainbow trout, with an average size of 11 to 13 inches.

A Delaware fishing license is required for most anglers.
