INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities have ordered the closure of an unlicensed Indianapolis day care center and arrested its operator after four children were hospitalized for suspected drug overdoses.

Thirty-seven-year-old Stephanie Gribble was arrested Thursday on four preliminary counts of neglect of a dependent. She remained jailed Friday.

Police reports say three girls and a boy were hospitalized Wednesday after apparently overdosing at the day-care Gribble operates out of her home. The report did not include information on the youngsters’ condition or what the substance they may have ingested.



The Indianapolis Star reports (https://indy.st/1dOjmeT ) state officials issued an order Friday demanding the day-care’s closure.

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration said in a statement Gribble has been cited “multiple times dating back to 2008” for operating illegal day cares at various locations.
