VALENTINE, Texas (AP) - It’s Valentine’s Day all the time for one West Texas town where organizers hope hundreds of visitors will show up for a party in a former grocery store.

A celebration dubbed “Valentine’s Day in Valentine” will be held Friday on the day known for exchanging tokens of affection.

Valentine Mayor Jesus “Chuy” Calderon says he hopes the event could generate interest in the town of 187 people.

The El Paso Times (https://bit.ly/MbW8cy ) reports the party organized by Big Bend Brewing Co. is being staged at the 1907 vintage Johnson Grocery building, known as the Old Mercantile.

The brewery has lined up several bands, including country star Gary P. Nunn, to perform in the town about 150 miles southeast of El Paso.
