Power outages in Adams County

NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - Nearly 3,000 residents in Natchez and Adams County were without power early Wednesday from the winter storm.

Entergy Mississippi spokesman Tim Runnels tells The Natchez Democrat (https://bit.ly/1hbX8LR ) that the majority of the outages were caused by freezing tree limbs falling and taking down power lines.

Runnels says crews are out surveying damage throughout the area and were also bringing in out-of-town crews to assist with getting power fully restored.

Runnels says the local hospital and emergency agencies still have power.

Runnels says residents should stay away from downed power lines.
