MOSS POINT, Miss. (AP) - Moss Point Fire Chief Clarence Parks is resigning.

WLOX-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1kAilj4 ) Parks is leaving to become an instructor at the Mississippi Fire Academy in Jackson and Pearl.

Parks says his last day will be the end of February.



He’s served as fire chief for nearly two years.

Parks was instrumental in helping to rescue people in Moss Point when flooding trapped them in their homes during Hurricane Isaac.
