OBERLIN, La. (AP) - The Allen Parish School Board has called for a May 3 election on the renewal of a parish-wide property tax to help fund salaries and on millage renewals for maintenance of Reeves and Fairview schools.
The American Press reports (https://bit.ly/1eOXZNb ) voters will decide on the renewal of a 10-year, 5.15-mill property tax for general expenditures.
Finance Director Wilfred Bourne says at least 85 percent of the revenues generated from the millage will be for salaries and benefits
Voters in School District 3, which includes Reeves High School, will also decide on renewal of a 10-year, 7.74-mill property tax for maintenance and support.
Voters in School District 4 will also decide on renewal of a 10-year, 23.62-mill property tax for maintenance and support of Fairview High School.
