CUMMING, Ga. (AP) - Forsyth County fire officials say a man and three boys have been hospitalized in four separate sledding crashes.
Division Chief Jason Shivers says a 17-year-old boy slammed into a fire hydrant with his upper torso Wednesday afternoon and was hospitalized in critical condition.
Shivers says within about three hours, another 17-year-old boy, a 9-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man were also hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after sledding crashes.
Shivers says all four were taken to the Northside Forsyth Hospital.
He said at least one victim was being pulled by an ATV, and people riding sleds should never attach themselves to moving vehicles. Shivers says while sledding, people should make sure to avoid sliding down hills with any obstructions or near traffic, and should take a cellphone with them.
