Veterinary school dean appointed at LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Dr. Joel Baines has been appointed dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University.

The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1dF7FqI ) that Baines will start work on Sept. 1.

He has been an associate dean for research and graduate education and the James Law Professor of Virology at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Baines’ appointment requires approval of the LSU Board of Supervisors.
