STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) - An eastern Pennsylvania barber is on trial for homicide and other charges in the beating death of another barber who worked in the same shop.
The trial of 48-year-old Shawn Develvet of Tobyhanna got underway Tuesday in Monroe County.
Last May, police responding to a report of a fight at the Stylez Barber Shop in Coolbaugh Township found 34-year-old Quentin Thomas badly beaten and sitting in a chair. He was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
The defense is arguing that Thomas’ death was caused by pre-existing medical issues and that he was the one who started the fight.
